Gymnast Georgia-Mae Fenton &

IPC Lorraine Atkinson

2018 Commonwealth Gold Medallist Georgia-Mae Fenton on Asymmetric bars / Silver Medal Team All Around

A huge congratulations to East London Gymnastics Centre's very own Georgia-Mae Fenton who astounded audiences with an outstanding gold medal performance at her very first Commonwealth Games. A very proud International Performance Coach Lorraine Atkinson by her side every step of the way and to orchestrate England through into second place in the Women's team All Around event.

Georgia-Mae helped England team secure their second gymnastics medal by taking the women’s team silver on the second day of competition at the Commonwealth Games in Australia.

Kelly Simm, Taeja James, Alice KinsellaGeorgia-Mae Fenton and Lucy Stanhope scored 162.659 points. IPC Lorraine Atkinson was selected as Team Coach representing England following her successes with Georgia-Mae.

The Guardian has said that "The England women’s team is missing many of its star names... all absent through injury, but Fenton rose to the challenge, making it two English golds in 10 minutes by producing a polished routine on the uneven bars to win with 14.600".

Once again, a huge congratulations to all members of the England Commonwealth team and a special felicitations to Georgia-Mae & Lorraine who have not only done East london proud; but the whole country as well!

E.L.G.C. Future Stars Competition Results

Recently, our club gymnasts took part in the Future Stars competition at Huntingdon Gymnastics Club where, as always, ELGC stormed the podium to receive their well-earned medals. The gymnasts competed across all levels (Novice – Advanced) and pieces to get their spots on the podium.

Huge congratulations to all the gymnasts who competed and a big thank you to all of you who supported the club and competitors! Our expectations were not only realised, but surpassed by all gymnasts across all categories and really put some meaning into the words “Future Stars”.
